Jeff Brent Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I have been teaching for many years and it is extremely rewarding to witness my students progress towards mastery of the guitar. Not every professional guitarist is capable of teaching. It requires the ability to take complex subjects and break them down into bite size pieces. Coupled with my love of teaching is the realization that it is my calling.
My influences are:
Hendrix, Page, SRV, BB, Buddy Guy, EVH, Vai, Batio, Django, Jobim
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio
Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:
Monday thru Thursday 10am - 9pm
Guitar Techniques:
Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
First, I introduce myself. Then I lead them into the room and show them their seat. Next I ask how long they've been playing. Then I explain to them the clauses in my policy sheet. Depending on where they're at, will depend on whether we work on chords, progressions, theory, scales, licks, riffs, or other soloing techniques, in additio
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Taking into account all the varied ages and abilities of students who have come to me over the years, it is impossible to describe in any form what a "typical lesson" entails. Each lesson is tailored to add missing knowledge or consolidate concepts previously introduced fully dependent on the students current level and needs relative to their progress towards their various goals.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
Everyone is different with their strengths and weaknesses.
