About

My love of studying and teaching music spans more than three decades, starting with teaching summer camp music lessons in Quebec Canada. In that time I’ve taught music to all age groups, from small children in a wide variety of settings.

in 2003, after teaching for years, I completed a master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy at San Diego States University. And in 2008 I became certified in teaching the Suzuki method of piano teaching, training directly with Doris Kopelman who co-introduced the method in America. I’m also well versed in the Celebrate Piano Method.

I specialize in customizing my teaching methods to the personality and skill level of each student. I’ve also trained extensively the Alexander Technique, which anable me to help develop proper body posture and movements to enhance their coordination and control.

Drawing on my strong music education background, I create Lessson plans that give each student a solid foundation in movement, sight reading, ear training, sight singing, music theory, improvisation, depending on the student’s interestsand needs.

music and teaching were my first two loves, and I cherish each opportunity to share my joy of playing music. Interacting with students, crafting and teaching approach ideally suited to their personality and level, and watching them develop both In their ability and confidence are the highlight of my work as a Piano instructor. I look forward to each lesson as not only an opportunity to instill the love of music in students but for the chance to learn for the chance to learn from them as well.
