What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on what they wish to learn in the kitchen, we would start by getting comfortable with knife skills and safety. Then move into planning a meal or menu for an event. Then how to shop, stay organized and execute fine dishes to share with friends and family.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
AA Culinary Art - California Culinary Academy 1993

Men, Women & Kids too!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My class on teaching couples to cook together at home with a spicy flare, with heat in the dishes & chocolate to finish. Pure loving experience for all the couples, most of the ladies said they would save the recipes and do them again for their next Valentine's day together.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Food is fun, an experience for each day, each meal. It should keep you healthy and happy. It's important to eat at home to stay healthy and then splurge on the weekends out sharing life with friends and family.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What they want to achieve with this class. What diet or needs do they have with cuisine and are they ready and committed to learn something that will bring themselves so much joy!
