Hi congratulations on your decision to take on guitar. I can honestly say that I have gotten more joy and sense of accomplishment since I started my guitar journey 10 yrs ago than any other endeavor I've I've ever taken up. , I'm advanced in guitar playing and theory. I believe both are necessary for a well rounded player to thrive although everyone has different learning styles which is why I try very hard to taper my teaching style to each student. I'm highly adaptable and easy going. For example I have always been able to learn through reading about a subject then applying what I've learned. However, I've had students who are much more hands on and learn through trial and error; or, some have an inmate, highly developed musical ear. Despite these differing styles I believe anyone can learn the guitar given the proper guidance.
