Welcome to Wushu Central Martial Arts Academy!
Wushu Central has been offering classes in San Jose, California since 2003. We are a family-oriented Martial Arts school specializing in teaching Kung Fu (also called Wushu) to men, women, and children of all ages. Wushu Central offers a number of programs for physical fitness, self defense, and character development. We offer the most effective, widely-recognized training techniques and programs in the Bay Area, such as our Award-Winning Martial Arts Curriculum, National Done With Bullying Program for Children, and several Nationally Recognized Self-Defense Programs for children, teens, adults, and families. We have had the honor of being voted the best Karate school in Silicon Valley for 10 years by readers of Bay Area Parent magazine.
Wushu Central has an outstanding reputation, not only in teaching Martial Arts skills to both children and adults, but also in contributing to our community through charitable donations, free community workshops, and assisting in our local schools. We are much more than just a regular Karate studio! Our program is committed to helping children of all ages develop both physically and mentally. We give children a head start in life, and teens and adults the jump-start they need to be more successful now and in the future.
Our classes are taught by expert Kung Fu instructors who care about their students. They help students to learn and improve through positive support and encouragement, not through intimidation! What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student attends a free trial lesson and evaluation so that they may see how they enjoy learning martial arts here, and so that we may help determine which of our classes they will benefit most from.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years of martial arts training experience in a variety of styles, with a primary focus on Kung Fu / Wushu. Our school has been teaching students of all ages for 15 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Tuition varies slightly based on the program, but in general breaks down to between $15-25 a class.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all age groups from ages 2+, and can handle a large range of personalities! We also have experience working with special-needs children, including those with autism, ADHD, and various developmental delays.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Seek out a professional school with a good reputation. Be sure to take a free trial class to make sure that the school is a good fit for you.
