Carrie is a classically trained soprano. She studied Vocal Performance for her Bachelor's Degree at Brigham Young University (BYU), where she sang in numerous opera and operetta productions, including the role of Mimi in La Boheme. She was a finalist in BYU's Singer of the Year competition for three years in a row and also sang in BYU's premier choral group. Her true musical passion is teaching, and she has enjoyed teaching voice for 12 years and piano for 10 years. She specializes in establishing a healthy vocal instrument that is flexible, powerful, and efficient. She employs repertoire from classical art song, musical theater, folk, pop, and jazz to accomplish this goal. Carrie is fluent in Spanish. She and her husband, Cameron, have lived in Utah, Ohio, Spain, and Peru, and are very happy to be back in San Luis Obispo. They are the parents of three daughters, ages 13, 11, and 6.
