About
Salty Strings Guitar Studio offers one-on-one private lessons for guitar, bass and ukulele taught by instructor Daryl Bond.
Daryl's positive approach to teaching makes learning guitar a fun, enjoyable experience for his students. Daryl works together with his students to build a repertoire of music they want to learn while developing fundamental musicianship skills such as rhythm, scales, chords, improvisation and sight-reading along the way.
No two students are alike, which is why lessons are customized to suit each individual student's interests, goals and experience level. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned shredder, Daryl will help you take your playing to the next level.
Daryl Bond first picked up the guitar in 1996 after being inspired by the music of Jimi Hendrix. He began teaching in 2006 while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Performance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. Daryl found that teaching was a great way to have a guitar in his hands every day while sharing his passion for music with others.
Although his formal education is in Jazz, Daryl enjoys teaching a wide variety of guitar styles to students of all ages and experience levels. Daryl's teaching philosophy is that learning guitar should be fun and he enjoys helping students find their own unique voice on the instrument.
Daryl currently lives in Sausalito with his wife Katie, daughter Isla, and black lab Fred. When not immersed in music, Daryl can usually be found spending time with his family or in the ocean pursuing his other passion, surfing.
