Guitarist Matthew Montfort is known as a world guitar innovator and an inspiring music instructor who helps students of all levels and ages learn whatever style they desire. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I interview the student to assess their musical goals and their current knowledge level, and then make a plan to get them where they want to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have forty years of teaching experience, and a B.A. and M.A. in music. I also have a long career fusing musical forms from around the world with my band Ancient Future, and have performed all over the USA and in many countries around the world.
