About

I am a guitarist/singer/songwriter with 30 years experience playing blues, rock, jazz, bossa nova, folk, classical, live as well as on records, radio and TV. I'll give you simple tools that will allow you to confidently play guitar -- by yourself or along with players of any level. If you're interested I can have you actually play at live jams as a way to "battlefield test" your newly acquired skills. Also - if you need to learn to play and sing a particular song for an occasion (celebration, marriage ceremony etc.) I can coach you on all the aspects of your performance - not only guitar playing, but also vocal, stage presence and behavior, mental and physical preparation, making your performance artistic, technical side (dealing with strings, cables, microphones) - all do's and don'ts of the process. With decades worth of stage experience I'm perfectly equipped for such jobs. Songwriting tips. If you write your own songs and feel that you could use a boost in your creative process or just need an advice on your craft - I'll be happy to work with you on your songwriting. Besides English, I speak Russian and French.

I enjoy establishing a warm and supportive working environment with my students. I love sharing the tips coming from my experience, and see how this immediately brings my students' to the higher level of playing. I absolutely love the feeling I get when my students play in front of a cheering audience and then come down from the stage and tell me "I didn't know I could do this!". I feel blessed to be in the position to teach the beautiful and universal language of music - the ultimate language of communication.

I cant say enough good things about Sandro as a guitar teacher for my young teen. From the very first lesson, it was clear that he has a special talent for working with children. Sandro is incredibly patient, taking the time to ensure that my daughter fully understands the fundamentals before moving on to more complex concepts. This step-by-step approach, with follow up video instructions has helped build my childs confidence and skills.
I also appreciate how flexible he is, accommodating schedule changes around school events and other activities.
Overall, Sandro creates a positive and encouraging environment that my child looks forward to every week. If youre looking for a guitar teacher who is patient, thorough, and flexible, I highly recommend Sandro.

Sandro is a great teacher! I had been wanting to learn electric guitar, but at 22 years old, I was worried that I wouldnt be able to pick it up as well as someone who started earlier. However, Sandros lessons have encouraged me tremendously. He is incredibly motivating and makes every lesson feel exciting and rewarding! He is very detailed when it comes to technique yet is always patient and accomodating to my abilities. Overall, I feel just as great about guitar as I did when I first started (or maybe even more!) and I would definitely have to credit Sandros teaching!

I have been taking guitar lessons from Sandro Eristavi for 3 months now.
I couldnt be happier about my progress and my teacher. Sandro is a very professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful instructor with a gift for teaching. Hes patient and creative in his approach. His teaching method is flexible and intuitive, and gives quick and solid results - within only 3 months (thats about 12 lessons) I progressed from being barely able to play blues to the level where I am now able to carry a simple guitar part (both rhythm and solo) through a song while jamming with other musicians. Being passionate about guitar and musical performance in general, Sandro goes beyond the necessary minimum instruction and is always ready to provide helpful tips on many related subjects - from the choice of gear, strings, what tone to use for different types of songs to the very valuable tips on stage performance and the blues scene etiquette in general. Another great thing about Sandro - he is an accomplished songwriter, and that gives his instruction an additional perspective, very helpful for me personally as an aspiring songwriter.
Big thanks for connecting me with a great teacher!

My friend who has a guitar academy in the Bay area asked me to pick up his student that moved down to Orange County. That was my first student. On several occasions I was asked by people who heard me play if I'd consider teaching.

Usually I work with beginner level players motivated to learn to improvise, improve their rhythm and solo guitar skills, learn the do-s and don't-s of performing live (solo or with other musicians). I also work with songwriters who look to further their writing and arranging skills. For performing songwriters who want to enrich their live solo/duo sound I offer help in creating professional quality backing tracks of their songs.
