Jonathan Chu Piano

Hello! My name is Jonathan, and I’ve been playing classical piano for over 20 years. I’m based in Santa Clara, CA, and while I work full-time in tech, I teach only a small number of students so I can give each one the time, energy, and attention they need to grow.

I have experience teaching a wide range of students — from young beginners as young as 6 to busy adults balancing careers in tech. My goal is to make lessons both enjoyable and effective, tailoring them to each student’s pace, interests, and skill level.

For students and parents who prefer a more structured approach, I also teach using the ABRSM system, helping students prepare for graded exams while developing strong technical and musical foundations.

While I have a special love for Romantic music (Chopin is my favorite!), I guide students through all types of repertoire depending on their goals.

Lessons are held at my home studio in Santa Clara on a 2023 Steinway Model M grand piano, providing an inspiring learning environment.
