About
Mindful Kung Fu is a self-defense school that you and your children feel proud to be a part of. We specialize in developing family relationships with our students while teaching a real martial art system that is not only practical but fun too. Our Kung Fu style, Suh Do Kwan, is made up of old Shaolin animal techniques such as monkey, Dragon, and stork, just to name a few. Each technique is full body oriented and incorporates strikes, footwork, and take downs. It is also suitable for all ages and all body types.
At Mindful Kungfu you are not only going to learn how to defend yourself, but you will also learn to master your greatest opponent... yourself.

I love working with all types of people. I love explaining and showing how various parts of the body working together can create the ultimate self defense. I also enjoy healing and meditation and philosophy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We train things slowly, not to detailed and mindful when it comes to new students. Everybody learns at different speeds, so I always teach to the newest students when it comes to the beginner class.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a third degree black belt at Suh Do Kwan Kung Fu. I have been teaching for several years and running my Grandmaster's school for almost 3 years before opening up this school. I have several certifications and I am a professional certified teacher with my system of Martial Arts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am offering five weeks for $99 with no contract currently. Afterwords 135 a month with a six month contract.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at brown belt with the American school of martial arts in Burbank California. I am passionate about teaching people of all ages and I am extremely passionate about being part of the system of martial arts. And my ultimate goal is to express and share that passion with everyone - while teaching a martial art that is real, practical and works!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have trained and taught students from the age of three to the age of 80. And I have taught all classes starting from beginners to advanced black belts. I've also worked with students with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and attention deficit problems.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise you to find a teacher that you believe can offer you something valuable, real and practical. But also someone that is kind, Mindful and passionate about what they do.
