With extra pride I'd like to report that last year my 13 year old prodigy piano student has for the very first time in his career performed with orchestra, playing Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto. He received a standing ovation, with lots of bravos shouted. All performers were good, but my student [name withheld for privacy reasons] left all other piano performers in the dust! Each of the 8 chosen award winning youngsters (ages 9-15) played one movement.
Moreover, this very student has been signed up for level 8 of the Certificate of Merit state exam just a couple months later, - even though he has never taken a single one before!
With my compressed guidance he achieved 98% on written test, and 100% on both oral and playing tests! Honorable Mention of the Jury on top!
Another student of mine won local awards in two consecutive years and was chosen for performance at a well known LA museum!
