About

I offer the following instruments:

Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, Voice

I offer the following topics:

Music Theory, Composition, Songwriting, Music Production, Recording, Mixing, Mastering

Sharing musical ability is one of the greatest joys in my life. I strive to offer the highest quality music instruction possible and inspire students to their best. I believe that students need hand tailored lesson plans and I don't believe in a one size fits all approach.

I have 17 years teaching experience.

I also love teaching the art of music production, songwriting, and music recording, because it inspires musicians, vocalists, and instrumentalists to utilize the process of recording to improve their skills and achieve their musical aspiration. It is very rewarding to see a student so enthused to create their own music.

My daughter started taking ukulele lessons with Eric on Zoom during the spring of the pandemic. At 10-years-old, she was the youngest and only child in a beginners group ukulele class of adults. But she held her own and with Erics coaching, she was able to learn to play fairly quickly. It was great for her to be able to learn an instrument and have a creative outlet during that tough time of quarantine. It also sparked the beginning of her love for music that has continued to grow now as she is in her teen years. As she got older, she transitioned from ukulele lessons to private guitar (both acoustic and electric) as well as piano lessons. Through the years she has learned so much from Eric. She went from a kid with no musical background to reading music fluently, studying music theory, playing four instruments, and performing guitar solos at school concerts. Its amazing how much she was able to learn through her weekly virtual lessons with Eric. He is an amazing music teacher and great with kids. He is patient, encouraging, and able to deliver instruction in a way that makes it easy and enjoyable to learn. I would highly recommend Eric to anyone looking for a music teacher for their young kids or teens.

Eric is an amazing teacher! I wasnt sure how virtual lessons would work, but Eric has an amazing setup and instructions that make them wonderfully convenient and easy! Eric is fantastic at catering the lessons to your songs and interests while meeting you where you are at. He has helped me fall in love with playing the piano again!

After a couple of years of lessons with Eric, my knowledge of music theory has grown exponentially. His ability to connect music theory to the songs we play is great. I also like that he is patient with me and takes the time to fix problems and initiate good practice and playing habits, avoiding common mistakes that would catch up to me in the future. Eric is a great teacher, and I plan to work with him more.

    Frequently asked questions

It is valuable and imperative to figure out a students exact aspirations in music and determine what level of skill or knowledge a new student already has.  The lessons are hand tailored to the needs of each new student.  It is essential a new student find enjoyment in their practice of music, so strategies are developed for individual students to get the most out of the lesson while having fun!

I earned a Bachelor's Degree from New York University as a Music Business Major in 2011.  I have been teaching music since 2006, both privately and for accredited institutions.  I have taught voice, guitar, piano, bass guitar, music recording softwards such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason, Maschine, and more.  I've also taught concepts of songwriting, music production, music composition, recording, sound design, synthesis, and more.

My experience is not limited to teaching, as I am a working creative professional in the entertainment industry, as an artist, music producer, songwriter, sound designer, video-maker, performer, and DJ.

I taught my first lesson while I was still in high school.  I was the guitarist of the high school's favorite band and had some fans as early as then.  My friend's neighbor was into the music we made and approached me about guitar lessons.  The journey started there.  Since then, I have expanded what I can teach as my abilities have significantly grown since 2006.

I work will students of all ages and skill levels.  The youngest students I work with are 5 years old.  The oldest students I work with are 80.

It's important to find a teacher who can listen to your dreams as a musician and map out an achievable pathway to those goals.  You want to find someone who loves music, and loves sharing the gift of creating music.

    1. What kind of music do you listen to?

    2. What are your musical goals?

    3. Are you ready to have a lot of fun making music?
