I teach multiple instruments and have several famous students. I was a music major at Cal State Hayward. I am a published songwriter and have performed with many famous bands. Check me (Doug Freedman musician)out on Facebook. Some of my well known students are T.V. and off Broadway (School of Rock) star Mystic Inscho, and Paul Bostaph, drummer for Slayer. I have been a member of Iron Butterfly, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Vital Signs( Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) In the blues world, I have played with Jimmy Mccracklin, Bobby Webb, Amy Lou a d the Wild Ones, and many others. I love seeing my students progress and have been teaching for over 40 years. I am very good with special needs kids. I am able to do things like play bass for my drum students so they can work as a rhythm section. I get a proud feeling when my students achieve their goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I evaluate their needs and wants, and I give them a brief description of how I work to achieve the goals we establish together. We find the strengths and weaknesses and proceed accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Music major, studied privately with the best, including Narada Michael Walden, David Garibalfi, Ralph Humphrey, and Chuck Brown.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing varies according to travel time and length of lesson. A typical on line lesson is $25 per half hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I was requested by my teacher to teach scholarship winners when I was a youngster. I have never stopped 😎
