FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Finding out where they are at and where they want to go. After evaluating the level of skill then creating some goals and then start working on technique, Muscle memory, and understanding how to navigate the instrument.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was mentored by two different guitarists one with a masters in music possibly a phd by now and the other a woodshedding folk blues americana player who learned how to play on the porch as a child. I have played in bands for 37 years and put out 3 albums. have had songs in film and tv. Sold out clubs in hollywood. and have had internation and national press. Played with counless members of great band ranging from the Who to Matchbox 20. I have a great talent for teaching.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

40.00 an hour or 60. if i drive to you.

How did you get started teaching?

People came to me to learn or ask if i would teach their Kids.

What types of students have you worked with?

No 2 students are ever alike. Some have a knack and others have to work for it.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My Band 40Amp.fuse just headline the 21st annual Fish Fest for about 750 people. it was a lot of fun!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Take one lesson and if you are not excited about what you learned find another teacher. A light should come on in your head that says: Yes this is gonna work i feel inspired and can see that I can do this"

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

this is different for everyone. I think Students should hold their questions to the end of the first lesson because all their questions will be completely different after some light is shed on playing guitar. but of course all questions are welcome and there are no stupid questions.
