Hello! I am classically trained and have been playing piano for 12 years. I'm 19 years old and am currently attending Stanford University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineerin, as well as a minor in Music. I have over a year of teaching experience and have taught kids from 5 to 16 of beginner to intermediate level. One of my main teaching aims is to foster in the student a genuine passion for the instrument; it is much easier to sit down and practice if you are your own source of motivation. We will focus on making sure they develop a relaxed, solid technique that will benefit them as learn to play increasingly trickier pieces.
I charge $15 for a trial lesson. After that, my rates are $45 an hour and $25 for a half-hour (cheaper than most!). All the money I earn will go towards my tuition at Stanford.

Richard was extremely patient and professional when teaching my daughter, and he really taught her to love the instrument. It’s a shame that he left the LA area, but I couldn’t recommend him more to those in Palo Alto!
