Ryan's Piano Lessons
About
I am a college-aged student with 10 years of classical piano training. I want kids to recognize the beauty of playing classical music by introducing them to Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart early on. I will help your child unlock emotional expression through training their dynamics and encouraging them to have their own relationship with music.
Music is my lifeblood, and teaching and working with kids is something that has always come naturally to me. I am a believer in positive reinforcement and treating children with the respect they deserve as human beings.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student's approach to playing an instrument is unique. If the student has no musical experience, I would start out by teaching proper notation and some basic music theory. If the student already has a background in music, then we would jump right into an easy piece to assess the student's skill level. I know what it's like to struggle with playing classical music, which makes me patient as my teacher was with me.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There are too many piano teachers that will teach kids the same types of simple songs without any initiative to teach their student how to be a better pianist. The way I see it, hiring a teacher like that is a waste of money. The purpose of a piano teacher is to push students and expose them to new material.
