A comprehensive view of music with a ride ranging view to help the student get a strong overview of music as communication through phrasing, breathing, technique, understanding of harmony and structure to facilitate a "vision" for your work. As Miles Davis said, "it's the notes you don't play"
Currently teaching at Stella Adler - Los Angeles (acting academy).
Have conducted and musical directed over 5 national and international tours of Broadway musicals from RENT to AIDA. Received the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award for my original adaptation of "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" based on the novel by Horace McCoy. Won the DramaLogue Award for musical direction: RENT at the Ahmanson Theater.
Toured and musical directed for Rupert Holmes, Chaka Kahn, Sam Moore (to name a few)
Studied musical composition with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and graduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, UK in advanced composition.
