My teaching style is International School methodology. With Masters Degree in Performance and Arts, I have over 25 years experience, teaching and performing, in symphony orchestras in Russia. Before starting lessons, I evaluate child's ability to hear musical pitch and reaction to rhythm. This enables me to prepare optimal lesson plans suitable for the student. Lessons are customized to ability and interests of each student. Larisa Lewis studied at the Prof. Stolyarsky Special Music School for Gifted Children in Odessa, Ukraine. She received her Bachelor Degree at the State Music College also in Odessa, and she achieved her Master of Music Degree at the prestigious Nezhdanova Conservatoire in Odessa. Her studies included Violin class, Chamber Ensemble, Piano, as well as Aesthetics, Philosophy, Psychology, Pedagogy, and Cultural History of Western Europe. After teaching for eleven years at the Odessa Special Music School, she performed for nine years with the Lviv Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra. Since arriving in Colorado, Larisa Lewis has been teaching violin at her private studio. She has been a member of the Aurora Music Teachers National Association. Her students have been participating in Rising Stars and MTNA competitions and have been awarded First Prizes. By the request of parents Larisa Lewis also teaches the piano and the Theory of Music.
