Robbie was a wonderful mentor during my sophomore year in college. As a shy person, I've always struggled to push myself and my sound regarding my violin playing. However, Robbie was really able to adjust my technique, posture, and mentality in order to achieve a greater level of confidence and exuding that newfound self-esteem through performance. I've also struggled with my bow hold; Robbie helped me shift my focus to adjusting my fingers and developing a far better grip. Really appreciative of all his help!
I appreciated the fact that he took a special interest in my needs and did his best to work on what I needed help with. He always challenged me to think broader and bigger, and I had a lot of fun in each lesson!
Robbie is a wonderful instructor. He is kind, patient, and creative. He is very talented and engaging. He built a strong relationship with my child, and we are still very sad Robbie moved away from MN (we haven't been able to find another violin instructor).
Robbie is a very patient teacher who has a lot of experience and a lot of helpful advice!
I am a fundamentals-oriented teacher, and I start every student by assessing what they need to have a rock solid technique. If the student is an absolute beginner, we start from square one, learning the right way to use both hands to make music in a natural, painless manner. With older students, I like to understand their goals and objectives with the violin. I'm happy to tailor our work together so the student is making the music they want to make.
