Giving back to the community, helping to promote anti-bullying, seeing shy students grow into confident outgoing young men and women.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We want to make sure that we are a good fit for our prospective students, so we encourage them to come in and joina class to try it out. If they have fun, we set them up with a higher rank student to help facilitate a smooth transition into class with the rest of the students.

Sensei Gene began his studies in 1983 at the Topeka Judo Academy, where he studied both Shoto-Kai Karate and Judo/Ju-Jitsu under his first instructor Sensei Ron Vowell. He has spent the last 17 years developing his Judo & Ju-Jitsu skills, under W. Dieter Reitzig
