I have 40 years of experience with teaching both children and adults. You can progress as fast or as slow as you want to go. You will learn to read music as well as play by ear. You will learn to play other people’s compositions as well as compose your own. You can learn to play for enjoyment, or prepare for performance. You should plan to practice at least 30 minutes each day. Payment is by cash, Cash App or PayPal.

    Frequently asked questions

    New students should plan to purchase John Thompson’s “Teaching Little Fingers to Play” and Edith McIntosh “Level I Theory and Musicianship”. Those can be purchased at Meeker Music on North Tejon or online from Amazon.com. If the student has been playing for a while, they should bring a copy of the last piece they learned so I can evaluate their skill level.

    Studied vocal and piano at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma in the 1980’s. 

    $15 per 30-40 minute lesson.

    I started teaching beginners in college to make extra money. After graduating I expanded to teaching both beginner and intermediate adults and children.

    Adults, children over age 5, beginners and intermediates.

    I recently attended a comedy show in Denver at the Paramount Theater starring comedian Sarah Millican.
    Try a teacher out for a few lessons before you decide if they’re for you. You need to get a feel for the teacher’s personality and teaching style to see if you are a good fit.
