About
As a student, I found that I lacked certain skills when I left for college. As a teacher, I want to help my students learn the musical skills they need for whatever they wish to do. Be it college, play for church, or just enjoy music. I use different method books, all the while incorporating Music Theory and Music History. However, my main goal is for my students to enjoy themselves, and grow.
My teachers made an enormous impact on my life, both musically, and personally. While I was a student, I didn't realize the joys of being a teacher. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student transform a piece from a collection of notes to a musical interpretation. Or, watching the joy on their faces when a previously impossible Music Theory concept suddenly makes sense. But most of all, just watching the joy that music can give people, be they performing, or listening.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student is unique. If the student has had previous instruction, I will have them bring in their music, and we'll go from there. For students who have never played before, I will start them with an appropriate lesson book. However, as I said, everyone is different.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have studied piano for over fifteen years. Throughout those years, I have learned Music Theory, Music History, and Aural Skills. I graduated from Ave Maria University with a degree in Music. Over the years, I have taken the required classes for my degree, along with Advanced Piano Pedagogy. I have had the honor of singing with the Naples Philharmonic Chamber Choir, along with the Roman Catholic Chamber Choir, AMU Chamber Choir, PPCC Choir, and local church choirs. I have also conducted my local choir, and have been playing for my parish for almost eight years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Currently, my prices are as follows:
$20 per 15-minute lesson
$25 per 30-minute lesson
$30 per 45-minute lesson
$35 per 60-minute lesson
How did you get started teaching?
I originally started teaching ballet, and then learned that I enjoy teaching piano much more.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with young students who are just beginning up to late intermediate students. I work with ages five and up, beginning to early advanced.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To anyone looking to hire a teacher, I would suggest speaking with several teachers. Ask about their methods, their experiences, and policies.
