I strive to make piano lessons a personal experience. Every student gets a unique lesson plan created to meet their specific needs and passions. Piano and music are absolutley amazing, and it is incredible to be able to share my joy and knowledge of them with others who are eager to learn!
I have played piano for 21 years, and taught lessons for 8 of those. I enjoy teaching students from all walks of life and skill levels. All ages are welcome! I am happy to do in home lessons, and also have the option to teach on a delightful grand piano at my church as scheduling allows.

I found Peter as a beginner, looking to take adult lessons. After just a few months, my sight reading, piano theory knowledge, and understanding of the instrument’s capabilities increased substantially. Peter continues to show me different ways to be creative with the piano in order to play the way I prefer/enjoy. He tailors our lessons based on what my ultimate goals are. He consistently finds new music for me to learn, and I always walk away from our lessons feeling more confident in my skills and knowledge of the piano. Another great thing about my lessons with Peter is the patience and understanding he shows with my progress; he is willing to go over things multiple times as needed and repeatedly works around my schedule when I have to miss a lesson. Overall, Peter is a kind and dedicated teacher that puts in time and effort to see me succeed in my goals. I highly recommend Peter for piano lessons.
For many years I have tried classes, private lessons, youtube tutorials and beyond to learn the piano. I could never get over the hump. Peter has made the piano feel attainable to me for the first time. He has a way of really listening and understanding what his students want out of their lesson experience. His expertise is not only in his musical skill, but also in scaffolding lessons in the moment to be able to really meet the students needs. He has given me so many tools for my playing and so much insight into the infinite world of music theory. His love for the piano shines through in his positive instruction. I leave every lesson feeling so empowered towards an instrument and skill that has baffled me for so long! (I should also mention that the practice space is so beautiful, if you’re into aesthetics).
Instructor was good at figuring out what level i am starting at and filling in the areas i did not know
Peter tailors his lessons to exactly what you want to get out of it. He's a wealth of knowledge, and he does an excellent job of delivering it so you always feel you're learning and making progress. He's patient and extremely easy to get along with!
I spend the first lesson gathering information about the student - what they already may know, what they enjoy about music, their goals, etc.
From their we fill in any information gaps for the next month or so, and take some time to learn exactly what direction the lessons will end up taking.
By the end of the first month, I typically have a lesson plan specifically for you ready.
