About this pro

I am a classically trained voice, piano, and strings instructor. I help students of all ages and talents reach their musical goals.

I have performed in Copenhagen, Berlin, Italy and Austria. I have a Master's of Music in Vocal and Piano Performance.

I have the skills, training and experience to help students with the fundamentals of music & theory and performance preparation, but I also help students prepare a demo tape or prepare for a play or live preformance.

I have a young student that prepared and won first place in the Young Miss Colorado Ambassador contest. She came to me as a beginning piano student and played piano for her talent.

Another one of my students made it to the third call-backs at the Colorado auditions for The Voice.

I can help you with any of these goals, to play for yourself or to prepare to play for the world!🌎

I love people and working with my students. I am not a rigid teacher, I want you to enjoy the journey and have fun at your lessons!

I am so proud of my students when they master a song or a new technique or are ready to move up to a new book level. Your progress is my progress!

I’m still very new but I love how Amber makes you feel. I was super nervous my first day but I pushed through and when I met Amber I immediately felt calm. I love how personable she is, her grace and patience with me is so satisfying that I look forward to my lessons with Amber weekly. She opened my eyes on a important note that all singers should know how to read music so not only am I getting my voice back, she’s teaching me how to read music and play piano! I feel so grateful to have met/found her. I can’t wait to get my confidence back with my voice and learn the piano on top of it all!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to sit down for a few minutes with new students and learn their musical history and find out their goals for studying. If they have prior experience I will ask them to sing, play or act a scene for me.

I will then play for them and let them know how I feel we should proceed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Master's of Music in Vocal and Piano Performance.

I have performed in many states and many European countries.

I began my acting career when I was approached by an agent at the age of 14 and performed in my first commercial.

I have appeared in many stage plays and productions, as well as producing plays for my acting students to perform in publicly.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge $30.00 for a 30 minute lesson.

I charge $40.00 for a 45 minute lesson.

I charge $50.00 for a 60 minute lesson.

My studio is near S. Logan and W. Mansfield in Englewood, 80110. Also near Hampden Avenue and S. Fox Street.

How did you get started teaching?

My very first student found me when his mother approached me at a music store and asked if I could give her son piano lessons. I was so excited to share with a student how much I loved 🎶 music.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with ALL ages and abilities in my students. My youngest student was not quite 3 years old and my oldest was 80 when she began lessons!

So many students tell me they have no talen or, can't carry a tune. But I have found that everyone can learn and everyone has talent at some level!

We can hone that talent and ecpand what you think you can do-beyond your expectations.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I have been shocked over the last year how many of my new students tell me they can't read music, at all, and this is after many years of lessons.

There is no excuse for that- if you have been taking any type of musics for more than 3 months and can't read music- find a new teacher!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Do you want to really learn the fundamentals- learn to play the piano, learn to sing, learn to play the strings,  OR do you just want help to play or sing songs you like?

I prefer to prepare my students to do anything that could possibly come their way musically- but if you need help learning a partucular piece or preparing for a wedding or performance I am happy to help with that as well.
