I teach not only the mechanics of playing your instrument, I also teach music theory and make it fun for you. I want students to have fun in their lessons while they are learning the basics of their instrument. Students have a variety of options in the style of music they can do after they get the basics down.
I especially enjoy watching children learn and the look of joy they have when they've made a discovery. As students become more proficient and more versatile, they have more fun. I love seeing children mature in their musicianship.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We begin by learning the mechanics of the instrument and music theory. Don't believe people who say that students shouldn't learn to read music. While there are people who do well without that skill, having the ability to read music will take you so much farther.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master of Arts in Music Education from Teachers College Columbia University.
