Mark is excellent as a musician and teacher. He was very patient with me and helped me on my journey towards the learning experience with Chord Melody. I was able to record several CD's for my family and friends using his techniques . He spends a lot of time during each session to make sure you are learning correctly. I am positive you will appreciate the time and effort he puts into his teaching students at all levels.

I took Mandolin lessons from Mark for a number of years. Mark is an expert on the instrument, its history and the different styles of music that are played on the mandolin. Mark is always well prepared for the lesson and this added to the amount of ground we were able to cover at each lesson.

  • Brian Sear

Very flexible and adaptive. Taught concepts and techniques within framework of songs I enjoyed. Am able to further develop those concepts and techniques on my own.

Mark always gave lots of specific feedback and made it comfortable to be a brand newbie.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Instead of using a predetermined teaching method, I plan every lesson to the interests of the individual.
I assess the students musical knowledge and the type of music that they are interested in learning and I come up with songs and exercises that will get them to their goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a professional guitarist with many years of experience performing and teaching adult students. I have a Master of Music degree in classical guitar from the Hartt School of Music. I also studied in many masterclasses and in Spain and Italy. Teaching is something I really enjoy and I tailor the lessons carefully to each person's interests.
