All our instructors are certified and trained to teach, coach and inspire each student to reach the peak of their ability. The school owner and music director John McCarthy has written over 100 books and instructional programs sold worldwide. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is treated as an individual. We know that people will have different goals and aspirations. We talk with each student and create a plan to help you achieve your goals. Our award-winning Rock House Method curriculum is progressive and we provide students with all the tools you need to fulfill your dream and play music. We ask new students to make an "Ultimate Song List" of songs you want to learn and your lesson plan will help you to play these songs quickly and easily. From theory to complete songs we guide you along your musical journey!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Most of our instructors have musci degrees and all are professional performing musicians. We not only train you how to play your intrument but we coach and inspire you to be your best. Every Rock House instruector is trained and certified to teach.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $120 per month for half hour lessons, $175 per month for 45 minute lessons and $220 a month for hour lessons. You would come once per week. No long tern=m contract lessons are paid by the month.
How did you get started teaching?
Rock House started in 1986 and has grown to one of the most reputable music schools. My mission has always been to teach people to play music using applied learning. We don't just show you a bunch of scales and theory we show you how to apply what you are learning in a musical way.
What types of students have you worked with?
We teach students of all ages. We even have a "Little Rockers" class that teaches children agges 4 - 7 the basic of rhythm & timing and gets them started wiuth their first lessons for guitar, piano, singing and drums.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our school hosts a "Youth Open Mic" once a month that allows our studnets to play on stage what they have been working on. Rock House also works with many of the best musicians in the world creating instructional programs. Check out www.RockHouseMethod.com to see our work.
