We believe in the importance of creating a relaxed creative environment, which is why we specialize in providing in-home and online music lessons. This model allows you to save precious time that you would normally spend on the commute.
Our teachers serve the greater D.C. area and cover several areas of music instruction. We provide lessons in voice, piano, strings, and guitar.
Advanced degrees in music and years of experience make our teachers comfortable working with students of all ages and levels.
Above all, we enjoy seeing students progress. Personally, my biggest reward is to see them increasingly more interested and engaged as their knowledge grows and skills improve.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student is unique. Consequently, so is the approach. I firmly believe in creating a tailored lesson plan for each student in order to come up with the best possible, personal solution.
It all starts with filling out a simple set of questions, which can be found on our website: https://chevychasemusic.org/registration, followed by a phone conversation. By the time we schedule the trial lesson, we know what you or your child needs in order to get started right away.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I possess a bachelor's degree in piano performances, two master's degrees in piano and chamber music performance from Germany, Austria, and the United States, and a doctorate from the University of Maryland. I have over 16 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and levels.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons start at $55 and we offer a 10% discount when signing up for the entire school year.
How did you get started teaching?
I started building my private studio during my undergraduate years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I taught students of all levels, from beginners (ages 5 and up) with no prior knowledge, to graduate students attending international competitions, as well as retirees who decided to rededicate themselves to music after completing a successful career.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I always advise parents and prospective students to take their time to do a preliminary search of teachers in their area. Furthermore, while I realize that a limited budget can sometimes be a factor, I caution against choosing convenience over quality.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The only question that parents and students should think about is the reason why they want to take music lessons and what they woud like to get out of the experience.
