Guitar Lessons For The Hopeful (Hopeless)
About
Hi, I am a singer songwriter with over 30 years of performing experience. I am also the owner of Gypsy Sally’s, a live music venue in Washington, DC. I have been teaching guitar to all ages since 2005. My goal for all my students is to teach them the basics of “campfire guitar.” That means you have the ability to lead a song as well as follow one. Along the way I introduce playing technique, basic music theory, and good practice habits. I can also help singers put guitar and voice together. I teach out of my home in NW DC where I have a comfortable studio and plenty of room for parents who wish to wait on site while their children take lessons. I have day and evening availability. Please contact regarding scheduling and rates. You can learn more at my websites: www.silkydave.com and www.gypsysallys.com. Thanks, David
There's a lot to like about teaching guitar. I love sharing songs with my students and then passing on that ability to be able to share them with others. Playing and learning guitar is both a solitary and social activity, and I enjoy teaching and employing both sides. The patience that it takes to practice guitar is a virtue that translates to all aspects of life. Learning to perform, whether it be to 1 person or one hundred, is another life skill that can spill over into your personal and professional life. It's all about dialogue, and my ears and mind are open to guiding my students toward their individual goals.
