About

My teaching approach:

I develop a strategy for each student to reach his or her specific goals as a musician. I have been playing since early 1992, and am currently recording/performing with my band, Todesbonden, signed to Prophecy Productions. I pass on my years of knowledge & experience to my students who wish to launch their own music careers. I am most concerned with helping you get the RESULTS you desire - not with following every step in a pre-determined process. You want to PLAY the guitar, not struggle with it or recite exercises. I want you to experience those results as quickly & directly as possible.

My influences are:

Lead Guitar Influences: Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore, Muhammed Suicmez., Iron Maiden, John Petrucci, Joe Stump, Michael Angelo Batio, Rusty Cooley, Stephan Forte, Michael Romeo, Andy James, Luca Turilli Songwriting Influences: memorable hits from all time, especially the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and today. Everything from Rock to Pop to Metal to Blues to EDM to Classical. Classical Composition Influences: J.S. Bach, N. Paganini, A. Vivaldi, M. Mussorgsky, S. Prokofiev, S. Rachmaninoff, F. Chopin

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

I will assess your abilities and knowledge using a variety of methods. Most students actually know more than they realize they do; many beginning guitarists pick up a lot of skills and knowledge early on, but fail to remember the name of what they are doing. I will find your strengths, and those will be the foundation of your playing.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

If you have never met with me before, it would consist of meeting with me for a FREE 30-minute Evaluation session, where we can both discuss what you want to be able to do on the guitar and see if we are a good match for each other, and where I can see what the best method is for helping you reach your goals.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

You are my ideal student if you: a.) are serious about guitar playing & are determined enough to achieving the goals you set for yourself to hold yourself accountable to those goals b.) want to become as good as possible on the guitar & are willing to work SMART & consistently for results c.) follow my guidance on how to make your practicing as efficient and effective as possible d.) specifically have CREATIVE musical goals & want to make your own music, so that you have actual recorded music to show for all of your time & energy
