My name is Ly (Berkeley) Phan & I am a graduate of Northwestern High School, Prince George’s County. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's in Performing Arts and Education at the University of San Francisco, California. Being born & raised in generations of musicians, I have been exposed to classical music & a conservatoire based erudition for as long as I can remember; with a 7-year Violin Performance major & a 6-year Vocal/Choral Performance as well as a 4-year Music Education minor at the Vietnam National Conservatoire of Music. As the violin has grown in companion to my identity for the past 13 years of playing, I have had the privilege of studying under many outstanding teachers & taken part in many masterclasses. Moreover, I have developed a passion as an educator & have been successful in ensuring a sturdy foundation for my beginning to intermediate students.
As an aspiring young musician & teacher, my goal is to not only train & educate my students, but as well as fuel an inspiration & love towards the violin in particular & the world of music in general. I aim to create a challenging environment to expose them to an integrated curriculum & repertoire of different cultural withal philosophical violin styles. The more I try to broaden my student’s experience of performing & learning, the more tailored I am with their personal needs & individuality.
Knowledgeable, kind, and punctual. My son looks forward to her lessons.
