About

While pursuing an active international performance career as a soloist, orchestra leader, chamber musician and a recording artist with two solo CD albums released and sold worldwide, I have also been able to maintain a twenty years long and successful history of teaching students of various ages, abilities and goals. The diversity and wide geography of my professional training have enriched both my performance style and my teaching approach and methods. While following my own unique teaching method, I strive to meet the individual needs and goals of every student I work with. I love sharing my knowledge and experience with my students to help them understand and appreciate music both as an art form and a craft; and to help them discover their own unique voice through playing violin. Every student in my studio is offered a performance opportunity at least once per semester. We work on solo violin repertoire as well as chamber pieces for two or more instruments, including violin, piano and cello. Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, I began playing violin at the age of seven and made my debut at fourteen as a concerto soloist with the Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra. I hold degrees from the Juilliard School, the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Oberlin Conservatory. My performances and recordings have been enthusiastically reviewed by the Washington Post, New York Concert Review, Fanfare Magazine and San Francisco Classical Voice among others.

I have worked with Dr. Tatiana for around three years, and I have had an amazing time every single day. She is so dedicated to her work and loves encouraging her students to develop a strong passion in music. If given the chance, I would love to have her as an instructor again.

Ive worked with Dr. Tatiana for about three years. Shes an amazing teacher, and her passion for the violin is very admiring. When we started working on her online violin studio, the transition was very smooth. Dr. Tatiana was flexible and understanding with technical difficulties. It was almost as if we were working in person again. Its always a pleasure working with her!

    Frequently asked questions

My ultimate goal as a teacher is to educate and inspire my students, provoke and develop their interest and love for music and the violin. As a pedagogue, I strive to create an inspiring but challenging environment for my students. While not solely using a single method or school, I use a combination of all knowledge I earned as a pedagogue on the two continents. My teaching curriculum combines the finest aspects of the Russian and American traditions. It is comprehensive and student oriented, with a strong emphasis on individual development.

Having had extensive training in all aspects of the String Pedagogy, Music Psychology, History of the Performance Practice, I guide each student into the discovery of the most natural, relaxed technique. With my help they develop the skills necessary to be able to understand, analyze and interpret music of various styles and genres.
