He's OK, He's nice. I would tell my friends about him and would take lessons from him again.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

For the player that wants to train here on a regular basis. It's productive start with a idea of where you want your guitar playing to go. From there it's my job to get you there.

Open to students that are going to be self taught and just need a lesson on the basics.

Open to the idea of players that want a occasional lesson for a lot of different reasons like just to work a particular technique/song/work on a difficult passage . Or a refresher .

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Studied guitar teaching with the Elite Guitar Teachers Inner Circle (Tom)

Studied guitar my self as a beginner with great guitar instructors one of which (Paul) was Berkeley trained, another (Chris) that was  playing with Metal and alternative bands and finally (Vinny) the most advanced self taught music theorist and luthier that I’ve ever had the privilege to be around.

Also studied the instruction presented by Troy Stetina, Along with many others. And the learning never stops.

This alone does not does not qualify me as a guitar instructor. That’s I’ve went out and looked for information on how to instruct and specifically how to teach guitar! (see above)

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?

Years ago with friends and fans of Sour Clown

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

An original composition for a Halloween themed video. The bones of composition is very new being around for about week, not originally intended for video but seemed to work so it was changed as needed. The development and decision making process happened in a few hours, followed by integrating it all together for fluid play with stage moves during the video recording for a few more hours. Performed the music on video for a single take type performance, think we did about 12 takes with some breaks in about 1/2 hour. Choosing the best take for the mood presented, about 10 minutes. Loaded the video in editing software leaving the performance and sound as it lay, then added text and few effects, about another hour. Very excited to release it as we get closer to Halloween!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

To reach out to your instructor and have them guide you in regards to what your  looking for as it pertains to guitar, often trainees don’t realize many things that are possible with guitar and music.

To know that all guitar teachers (instructors) are different and have many different things they provide instruction on. And different ways to instruct the information.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What inspired you to pick up the guitar?

Do I not only want learn Metal guitar but also want to learn about the stuff that goes hand in hand with it? Like learning about basic recording, music related safety, basic equipment troubleshooting.., etc

Do I love Metal and do I want and need to be taught by someone who loves Metal as much as me?

Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced players what are you struggling with right now ?
