After a 40 year absence from playing the guitar, I decided to pick up the guitar and take lessons again (I took lessons at an age of 10 to 16). I have now been taking guitar lessons from George for the past 5 weeks. In this short time I have learned more about reading & understanding music than ever before. George is a very patient, energetic and talented instructor who obviously loves what he is doing. He actually motivates one to WANT to practice the instrument as much as possible!

Group lessons are a wonderful way to meet people with a similar interest. It encourages one to play better. It is a wonderful platform to share difficulties and to help each other overcome barriers. I have found that private lessons are important as well because one can focus on more personal playing issues without holding the group up. George is a most patient and encouraging teacher. He has never made me feel inadequate as I fumble along. While I do appreciate the group lessons I do find it a little more challenging to play when I am hearing others play. I am certain I will overcome this hearing issue as I become more proficient with my own playing. Learning to play guitar is a bit more challenging than I anticipated. It requires several hours of practice a day, but I am finding it to be a pleasurable experience. Thank you George!

After studying and performing for 10 years I took a position teaching part-time at the White House of Music in Brookfield, WI to supplement income. I have a great passion for helping tomorrow's guitarists avoid years of frustration by helping them learn correctly and fully the first time around. I also love helping frustrated guitarists get out of their. rut and learn to be a musician on the guitar

Beginners- from the age of 3, teens, young adults, midlle age and senior citizens

Intermediate students- seeking to better understand music as related to the guitar in many genres.

Advanced- in the styles of fingerstyle, chord melody, blues, Country, Folk and Rock, and to become an artist

I recently started 2 young ladies, ages 8 and 9 as beginners. After 6 lessons they were able to perfom a recital on stage and in front of a live audience on thier own

Don't attempt a shortcut. The fastest route to success is to do it right the first time, have a great teacher, then practice and learn your lessons.

If a teacher cannot teach music theory and harmony keep looking for a qualified instructor. This is the lifeblood of music. Half of my students are veteran guitarists frustrated because they do not know how to progress.

An educated guitarist sees keys, scales, chords, melodies, runs and the music in their head. Their intangible ideas are made tangible once the guitarist begins to play and the ideas from their mind become a reality of sound as they use the guitar to create music.

Some enthusiasts attempt to learn on their own with no direction. Others take lessons from unlearned players who again, acquired scattered skills on their own, from YouTube videos or a friend who could play a “cool lic” or a few songs.  If your desire is to learn to play a few songs this approach may work for you. However, if you want to become a guitarist and an intelligent musician then please learn correctly the first time.  Half of our students are adults who have been playing for years only to find themselves frustrated because their understanding of music is still a mystery.

1. Why do you want to learn the guitar?

2. What is your end goal with the guitar?

3. How much practice time are you willing to dedicate?
