Piano lessons weren’t fun when I first started, but as I go on, I progress more and more. She’s very strict, but cares about my progress very much. She really cares about my success. She is an important person in my life.

The Klaverengas are highly competent professionals, both as musicians and as teachers. It is difficult to find someone to work with who is both. Neither Jim or Julia lord over students with their talent, but rather share their infectious enthusiasm for making music and doing it well. They meet you where you are, at your level, and work with you to push yourself to new heights. I have worked with them for three years, and am grateful for the increased confidence and skills I have gained.

Ive taken piano lessons from Julia for a few years now and its been one of the best decisions of my life. She has been a great teacher and friend throughout these years. Her advice in instruments and techniques has significantly helped improve my playing. If you want a good quality teacher who is knowledgeable and professional in teaching music and voice, youve found the right person. Ive always been confident that Im being taught the proper way when Im taking lessons. I would recommend Julia to anyone who is serious about learning how to play the paino.

    Frequently asked questions

Every student is truly unique.  We teach students from age 6 to retirees.  We owned a music store and teaching school for 30 years and have recently retired to Florida.  Lessons are encouraging and proceed forward at the students' pace.  All students learn to read music, count music, and are taught good playing technique by studying with an experinced teacher who uses proven successful materials.

Extensive experience as professional musicians.  Years of teaching experience.  Parents of a famous musician.

Yes, lessons are $25 per session, one private session each week, payable monthly.  No long term tuitions.  Students reschedule every month if they wish to continue.  92% of our students are still enrolled after 1 year.

Requests by others who have seen us perform.

Absolutely everyone.  Students come from a very eclectic background.  There is no "one type" of student for us.

I'd advise to look for a teacher with lots of experience.  Every student is different, and you don't want to spend your money or subject yourself or your child to teachers who are "gaining experience" with your family.  All it takes is a really confusing teacher to ruin someone's pursuit of music in their lives.

It's better to just call the teacher directly.  Then it's easy to answer all questions that arise throughout the conversation.
