Allen Webber

I recently retired from the music faculty of Palm Beach State College, where I taught from 1989 to 2024. I coordinated and taught all the music theory courses, and also taught music appreciation, private voice, and private percussion, and directed the Concert Chorus from 1990-92 and 2021-24. Performance credits involve five productions with the South Florida Opera Company, and one with the Palm Beach Atlantic University Opera Workshop, eight years singing with Espressivo, nine years performing (percussion) with the Orchid City Brass, and longtime choral section-leader positions with various churches, including Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal in Palm Beach. I'm currently bass section-leader at St. Mark's Episcopal in Fort Lauderdale.

I compose and arrange music often, with appr. 80 works to my credit. These tend to focus on traditional sacred choral music, but also include piano solos, vocal solos with piano accompaniment (with occasional flute, clarinet, violin, or percussion parts), and pieces for brass quintet and percussion ensemble.

I start my teaching by getting to know you, your musical tastes, and your goals, gearing my teaching to what you wish to accomplish. I have years of experience teaching all ages, from four years old to older adults. I love teaching and working with others to help them develop their potential to the fullest!
