About
I focus the lesson on what the student wants to learn and continue to challenge them so that they can reach new heights of music making. Research shows that if students are interested in their tasks they will perform better. My goal is to keep student engagement high as we learn difficult skills by keeping lessons focused on what the student finds exciting!
Making a connection with other people through music is one of the most amazing feelings out there. Seeing a student growth and the sense of accomplishment when they have achieved something difficult is what makes this job great.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by identifying students goals and building and raport with them. Research shows that students perform better when they are interested in what they are studying so I make sure that our lessons are always geared towards the students' interest.
Once we have that ground work we start with basic skills and pedagogy to identify any areas that can be quickly worked on to show how good practice can lead to exciting results. Finally, we develop a practice plan for the student so that they can continue to develop their skills.
