About
I taught myself to play golf when I was a teenager....I worked hard every chance I could get, becoming a 1 handicap and club champion when I was 16 years old. As for teaching, there is not a single swing, shot, or style I have not seen or worked with....give me a chance to help your game. I have given over 4,000 lessons to all levels of players from professionals to juniors. The majority of students I have taught was during the years I worked in Italy, Germany & Guam managing golf facilities for the USAF. For 18 years I worked as a Golf Manager / PGA Professional with an advanced certification in instruction. I am positive that I can make an immediate improvement in your golf game....whether it is just wanting to get the ball airborne, wanting or pick up some extra yards, or stop slicing, etc.... Don't just settle for just any lesson or instruction...I WILL GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL IMPROVE WHATEVER ASPECT OF THE GAME YOU ARE IN SEARCH OF.....IMPROVE OR PAY NOTHING....YOU BE THE JUDGE! IS THERE ANY OTHER INSTRUCTOR WHO WILL DO THAT FOR YOU? I am confident in my teaching....nothing makes me happier than to see my students improve!
I love to see my students improve and shoot lower scores, lower their handicap, learn how to hit a variety of shaped shots & trouble shots. I have also taught numerous students classes on course etiquette, USGA rules, and lingo so they can talk their walk!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first find out what they want to get out of their game....then I see what they already know....watch them hit three shots and then we go to work .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a Golf Professional for 18 years for the USAF. I was in the top 4% of all the 28,000 nationwide PGA Club & Teaching Professionals in instruction by earning advanced certification for instruction. I have played golf for 50 years! I am an excellent communicator, easily being able to describe components of the swing motion and short game in easy to understand terms for students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Adults- $60 per hour or a series of 5 one-hour lessons for $275
Juniors- $50 per hour or a series of 5 one-hour sessions for $225
How did you get started teaching?
I had a few lessons starting out, but I really taught myself the game. I worked very hard in my early teens and by the time I was 16 yrs old I was a 1 handicap & club champion. I have a unique ability to identify the root of a student's problem immediately; helping thousands of golfers over the course of my career has given me great satisfaction and a sense of achievement! Teaching others to play this great game is all I want to do.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach men, women, seniors & juniors.....all levels to include: advanced, beginners, intermediate, etc....
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently made my 11th hole-in-one in April 2017. Just before that, I was hitting balls at a range when I noticed a middle-aged woman hitting balls but struggling at getting any distance because she was hitting weak slices. She packed up and was walking past me on her way to the car when I said "how it'd go?" She said she was disappointed in her session. I told her her grip was too weak to square the clubface up at impact....she thought I was kidding but I had her come over and hit a few of the range balls I still had left, I showed her the correct position of her hands and she immediately began hitting a nice right to left draw. I have a great eye to be able to get to immediately get to the the heart of the students swing fault. I have won over 100 tournaments of various nature in my amateur career (8 club championships, solo qualifier in ND & western MN for US Amateur in 1977; 1991 & 93 Republic of Panama Sony National Championship; low qualifier for ND State Amatuer in 1979; set 4 course scoring records; Air Force Golf Team; Played as the #1 seed for 1982 TAC (Tactical Air Command) Golf Team competing against England's Royal Air Force Golf Team in the TAC / RAF Challenge Cup in York, England. I have an in-depth knowledge of the golf swing.... I can improve your game in one hour or less.....promise or you pay nothing!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If the instructor cannot immediately make a difference in your game (within 30 minutes) ....find another one!
Many instructors will stretch a student's instruction length out purposely to create a long-term revenue source for them.....not me.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask the instructor what kind of experience they have teaching someone of your experience?
Ask the instructor how many lessons you might have to take? (if it is more then 5 lessons.....run to someone else).
