About this pro

I Love Music! And I love sharing it with anyone that wants to learn how to play the amazing instrument that the Piano is. I have been teaching for...ever! LOL. Our studio is fun and welcoming, we laugh and hug, we do music, we do sharing, we do life. Learning to play a musical instrument is a journey, and I always encourage my students to take it seriously but to also enjoy it. Where there is Passion, there is success. We all learn differently and at different speeds. Slow or fast is not the issue, perseverance is the key. Music should be a life long companion,

Ms. Marta is a wonderful piano teacher and great with the children. My boys enjoyed every piano lesson they had with her, her guidance in playing the pieces correctly and the fun theory games from which they learned so much. They both accomplished so much in two years before she moved to Florida. Ms. Marta is truly a talented teacher, knowledgeable and fun!

Marta is great with the kids. She is a great piano teacher. At times it was hard to get information but I think that was a factor from having a lot of students with just herself managing the business. She was much admired and will be missed.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First, I set up a short visit with the parents and child to meet and so we can both see if we are a good fit . I go over the way I run my classes, they have a chance to experience my personality. We go over rules and expectations, parents can ask questions, and I chit chat also with the child. I always ask that they go home and decide and to let me know if they decide to start lessons.

The first few lessons, I like to get to know the student's strengths, learning style, what they would like to accomplish. I use some games, have them answer a questionaire, and move on according to each child's personality.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have experience in Drama, Dance, Percussion Instruments, which I use in my classes when we are working on rhythm, and also used when I taught Pre-K group music lessons.

I was Certified in Kindermusik.

I have worked as a volunteer with several kid's foundation, so being around kids and relating to them comes easy for me.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I charge a flat fee a month of $100.00   for one 1/2 hr class each week. I do not offer make up lessons unless in cases of extreme emergencies (hospital stay, death in the family, accident). The months that have 5 weeks, I teach that one for FREE (unless I need to use it for unexpected personal matters) to compensate for any missed lessons by the student.  I ask to be notified in advance if a student will not be attending class. If a student has a conflict with her/his scheduled weekly time due to another activity, I will try to move the student for a few weeks to another open slot if available without the student losing they original scheduled day and time.
