About

I am a pianist and singer, specifically trained in both classical and pop. I was classically trained in piano, and then I played keys at church for years - which is where I got my experience in chords, lead sheets, and other aspects of contemporary music.

It is truly a joy and a privilege getting to be with my students. I love music, and I am passionate about helping students learn to do what I love most!

Victoria is a great piano teacher. She is pleasant and professional, as well as very organized. Victoria takes the time to learn the needs of the students and plans her lessons accordingly. She truly enjoys teaching children and adults alike, and Id recommend her for first-time learners or those like me who played a while ago and are just getting back into it.

    Frequently asked questions

I take more of a constructivist (learner-centered) approach to piano teaching, which focuses on the STUDENT. This approach emphasizes the student's active construction of knowledge and understanding. Unlike classroom settings - where getting through the lesson is the priority - my priority is that the student actively understands the concepts at hand. I teach them to truly LEARN, rather than just memorize. To ensure this, I like to take different approaches to help students explore musical concepts; I challenge them to think critically, all while still having fun with them. Each student learns differently, and my lesson plans are tailored to meet each student's individual needs.

I started teaching piano as a hobby when I was 14. By 16, it had turned into my official job! Fast forward to now, I have been teaching for years and I absolutely love it.
I have worked with practically all ages - from young children to adults.
Are they willing to practice? :) I would say 50% of learning the piano depends on the teacher, and the other 50% depends on the student. My job is to teach - and I do that to the best of my ability! However, if the student does not put in effort, it hinders their progress tremendously.
