About

I am a USAF Veteran, Former Paralegal and Berklee College of Music Graduate.

I encourage each student to choose a peice of music that is just for fun. I choose the others to teach specific skills. Then I use the chosen peice to get you playing right away. This is also a great way to begin to learn to read and recognize music notation.

My teaching style is relaxed and contemporary. I believe that learning music should ALWAYS be fun. No matter what skill level you are at.

"Music is not work, music is play". - Joss Stone

I do not use the word "practice" when asking a student to begin learning a new song or continue to a new part of a song. I ask them to "play" or "sing" a little every day or every other day for the joy of it.

Everything I teach comes with positive reinforcement. The goals I set are always attainable so that the student can begin to see and measure their own progress. Keeping them motivated to continue learning for years.

I enjoy watching the lights go on when the peices of the puzzle finally come together after the first few lessons or when something that's been difficult to overcome has finally been accomplished. I enjoy the challenge of teaching theory in a fun, contemporary and comprehensive way. I believe in not only knowing the "how" but also, the "why".

    Frequently asked questions

I do not have a set formula for every student. I am a contemporary teacher and use many different tools to keep learning fun and engaging. I do not ever want my students to dread coming to class. I will determine what level they are at in the first 2 lessons and we will start working on what they need to learn from there. My lessons are taylored made for them. With older students, I will work bar by bar with them on a piece of music they choose until they are playing the entire song. Students are highly motivated to learn and practice with this method. With younger students the lesson plans are based on where they are as they develope skills like learning patterns and even their ABC's. Learning the language of music is particulary good for a developing brain and encourages reading readiness.

Graduated from Berklee College Of Music, Boston. Majoring in Production and Writing with an Understudy in Performance and Mucianship. I specialize in teaching very young students and PreK, early childhood development, music and movement teachniques that can be done online, at home with the parents. Even infants love it. The class is about 25 to 30 minutes long via zoom. I use puppets, books, rhythm sticks and all sorts of fun teachniques to teach fundamentals through music.

    $35 Per Class or $120 for 4 classes @ 1 weekly.

What type of music would you like to learn. Classical, Country, Hip Hop, R&B, Pop or all of the above?

What is the song you would like to learn to play first?

How much time are you willing to set aside to learn? Because learning anything new requires a certain amount of your time "spent" doing it and the "pay off" will be equal to the time which is spent. Those who play/sing for 10 minutes every day generally progress faster than those who play/sing one day per week, but fo two hours straight.
