About

My teaching approach:

Learning to play an instrument can be the hard part of playing music, which is why I try to keep it fun and inspiring at the same time. I do my best to bring out a musicians full potential when they get the opportunity to perform. I teach everything the students wants to know while tricking them into learning the things like reading music, theory, scales, chords, ear training, the business, the industry, and much, MUCH more.

My influences are:

The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, John Scofield, Paul Gilbert, Scott Henderson, The Allman Brothers Band, Bruce Conte, Medeski Martin and Wood, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joe Pass, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Krasno, Tommy Emmanuel, Jimmy Smith, Wes Montgomery, Eric Clapton,

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Guitar Techniques:

Guidance In Equipment Selection, Recording and Production, Song Writing, Scales and Exercises, Music Theory, Reading Music, Jamming Skills, Improvisation, Performance, Vocal Accompaniment, Slide Guitar, Fingerstyle, Open tuning, Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

Its start by figuring out what the students want to get out of it, and them playing something for me. Depending on where that takes us we could see how they improvise, what chords they know, etc... If they've never played before, we first learn how to tune, then learn the basic right hand, and left hand technique, learn the first reading notes, followed by beginning the open positioned chords.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

The student will always be moving forward with their skills. Beginners start with notation and chords. Notation will develop into reading music and soloing, Chords will develop into comping and rhythms. There will always be new techniques ranging from finger style to flat pick. The student will learn many songs and transcribe solo's. It always depends on what the student wants to do!

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

My ideal guitar student practices a minimum of one hour a day, knows what music they like, and is open minded to music in general.
