What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I allow the student to communicate with me the areas in which they will like to learn and allow them to venture where they feel most comfortable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a culinary degree also working in many restaurants that allowed me to experience managing kitchens with my recipes!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are based on hours spent with the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching cooking classes, when I was hired to meal prep for a transitional housing. It turned into participants wanting to learn how to cook for themselves and others.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly a more mature audience as they grasp to the way I teach my classes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was off in the kitchen thinking of how to marinade some chicken I had taken out. As I wandered in the kitchen, ingredients start to come out and before I knew it this beautiful marinade was created. Dinner as exceptional and all because I’m not afraid to try new things in cooking.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say that upon picking a teacher, allow yourself to get to a place mentally that you will enjoy these classes and it’s all about having fun in life!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It’s most important to think about your teachers needs as well as yours. Your expectations can not be to high for the sake of both parties.
