What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process differs from student to student, depending on their age. I enjoy teaching all ages, beginning students age 7 to adults.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education includes M.M., "University of Tennessee at Chattanooga" (Organ Performance, Vocal Performance), M.Ed., "Strayer University" (Adult Education and Development)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard price for students is $100 a month, this includes (4 lessons a month, 45 minutes each) full payment is collected the 1st lesson of the month.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching after church on Saturdays and Sundays as a supplement support to children that wanted to learn to play the piano.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, beginning at the age of 7 on up to Adults 60+ who wanted a new hobby.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am involved in a variety of music, some of those are 1) Weekly Church Services, 2) Church Music Concerts, 3)Fund raisers for local colleges, 4) Coaching young performers preparing for auditions
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice to students looking to hire a teacher is to ask if the teacher can they effectively demonstrate what they teach others to do, and will you be able to give me a sound musical foundation to build on for life.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I have time to consistently invest in my music? No practice, No good finished product.
