Micah Scott Music Lessons
About
I am a classically trained guitarist and a multi-instrumentalist. I specialize in string instruments (all styles of guitar, bass, banjo, dobro and beginning violin/fiddle). In college I studied piano and am well qualified to teach both classical and pop(rock, mainstream, etc) styles.
In addition to teaching, I perform and I'm signed singer-songwriter. I travel the country performing original and Americana roots music. I have recorded with industry pros in Nashville and Philadelphia(and more plans in the works)
Having gone through the college audition process I can help prepare students for auditions for both Jazz and Classical guitar. I'm also happy to teach both aspiring performers and music hobbiest.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first lesson is always an assessment of the students musical taste, ambitions, expectations and skill level. Some of the pedagogical tools and methods I use in all lessons, but I do not teach any student exactly the same(or the same exact material). Every students musical path is customized to the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching privately since I was in college(2000). Also, I studied classical guitar, music education and guitar pedagogy in college. In addition to private instruction, I also have a lot of experience teaching in classroom settings. I have been the Music Teacher for two local private schools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
