Mysti’s Music Studio
About
Learning to play an instrument should be an enjoyable experience. With over 25 years of teaching experience, 14 being in the Lakeland area, I know how to keep students engaged in the learning process and enjoying their musical journey. I want students to love learning to play the piano. I help them learn to tap into their creative side and to be able to express their self through their music.
I believe that music should be inclusive and that playing the piano is something that can be achieved no matter whether you are neurotypical or neurodivergent. I teach to each individual’s learning modality through well prepared lessons based upon the individual student.
Learning doesn’t always happen on the bench. I use a wide variety of teaching strategies to help students learn. Students will play concept based games, use music apps, and learn to feel the rhythms and not just count them.
Students will gain a strong knowledge of music theory and learn multiple genres of music from: Classical, Contemporary, Jazz, Blues, as well as learning how to read lead sheets, improvisation and composition. We work on proper technique from day one.
As a member of multiple teaching associations, students who wish to branch out into competitions, or festivals will be able to do so.
