About

I'm willing to devote as much time, for what i would charge, to have a student feel comfortable in a particular aspect of the golf swing or golf in general, whether it's in feeling comfortable playing golf with strangers, putting, chipping, or the full swing.

Golf is an enigma. I've never mastered the game completely, although felt close at times. It's a difficult sport, probably the hardest I've ever played, and I'm good at sports in general. I see people struggle with the game, and i know i can help them with some solid fundamentals and advanced techniques that they can take to the golf course and enjoy the sport more completely. In the end, that's what's important...getting better, seeing improvement, and enjoying the direction you're headed. I'll never tell anyone anything about the game or the golf swing that they wouldn't hear from any professional player or teacher...I'm that confident about what i know and would pass on to pupils.

Rick’s virtue is patience, being student of the game and understanding that every individual has different approach as well as capability. Rick worked with me to understand my golfing objectives as well as the time & effort I can devote to the game. We created my individualized plan and milestones. We started with basics of the swing and focused on getting it right until my consistency and competency gave me confidence. Then we moved on to other aspects of the game and developed short game, putting as well as the course management. Whether you are beginner or experienced golfer, Rick patiently works with you according to your plan. He freely shares his deep understanding and vast experience with you to improve your game to best of your capabilities.

Frequently asked questions

Work with a student on the game they have or want, whether that's on the basics of the golf (Grip, Stance, Setup, Backswing, and Downswing) or on more advanced aspects of the swing.  If I have a fault with my instruction, it's trying to give too much information to a student too soon, because i'm a firm believer that professional instructors dribble out necessary aspects of the swing to keep a student coming back for more.  I'm very much into providing the most important aspects of the basic requirements of the golf swing, the backswing, and the downswing.  It's up to the student then to be ever mindful of those keys as they progress as a golfer.

Fifty years of struggling with golf, reading books, watching videos, and trying to put together the simplist secrets of the golf swing.

I don't have any standard pricing.  I don't charge what a professional teacher would charge for time, and i charge a flat, hourly rate for what is to be accomplished.  I don't care how much time that takes.  Golf is too important to me to not give a person my best shot at making them a better golfer.
