Our teachers are some of the most experienced in town, and we make a solid, ecclectic team. We've got plenty of classes for able-bodied people of all levels and backgrounds. But we're also celebrated for our long-standing community outreach propgram. We aim to make yoga accessible to everyone, without discrimination, so our schedule is really inclusive. We like to give back, so every month, the proceeds from our weekly Community Yoga Class go to a local non-profit group. We believe in adaptive yoga, so we've got two free Chair-Yoga Classes a week for people with disabilities, for seniors, and anyone else who might like doing meditation & yoga while seated. And for the love of Coconut Grove, we offer three free yoga classes every week in the open air, in the neighborhood. That's the work that makes us stand out.
We have about 20 different teachers; we ALL enjoy it ALL. Some lead classes that are fast-paced and physically challenging. Others use a gentle stretchy approach. Some create an introspective atmosphere where people are encouraged to move slowly and deliberately, and yet others focus more on mediation, alignment, breathing, chanting or concentration exercises, or a layered combination of all the above. It's always friendly, never dull at Dharma Studio.
