Omar Sawaya Music

Hi, my name is Omar Sawaya .. I can date the beginning of my fascination with music at an early age when my parents gave me my first guitar.I was born in Peru and lived in Venezuela before I moved to the US many years ago.. it wasn`t until my early teens that I decided to study guitar and music theory seriously and make a career in a rock band.I attended TAS(Taller de Arte Sonoro),in Caracas Venezuela, where I studied music theory and audio technologies , private tuiton with Berkeley School of Music guitar instructor and then at Roland School of Music specialiazing in modern genres. I took a different and unexpected music route playing with local Venezuelan indie rock icon 'Sentimiento Muerto' as a guest keyboard player, my love & passion for performance, composition and songwriting as a career gradually began to take shape. Few years later I decided to joined forces with three incredible and accomplished musicians and form one of Venezuela`s best bands ever 'Spias', after years of ardous work ,recording and touring, I decided to move to the US to test a new ground, soon after I started to teach guitar in several different styles as well as recording with local artist,but it wasn`t enough.Soon as a natural flow of events, I made a transition into the world of thematical electronic music and went to SAE(School of Audio Engineering and Audio Production) . This opportunity opened up a world of composing possibilities for me .I been busy ever since writing music in all kinds of styles, and genres at my home studio.My vast knowledge and love for history and geography makes possible to recreate acurate and sophisticated arrangements and rich textural inspiring compositions evoking and celebrating many different cultures a periods...
